This is a wonderful website.I stumbled onto this by accident. Lucky me!
Your playing is superb Robert. Do you ever think that you might be able to visit Australia? I have no doubt you would be very warmly received.
Please contact me if you would contemplate this happening.

Greetings from Austin! Beautiful playing and well spoken interviews. Please say hello to Robert Stiles, DSO orchestra librarian and bass player, if he is still there. Robert was a former student of mine, UT Austin. I'm also the principal bass with the Austin Symphony (Peter Bay - great conductor and new music advocate). Came across your ad on Facebook of all places.

Very happy to find your pages and to hear you. I am knocked out by the short clip currently on your home page (Dec 17).... can you identify the piece for me? It does not appear to be one of the clips on your audio/video page, or perhaps I missed it. LOVE your sound, thank you!

Cyrus coralled you into playing my Nursery Rhyme String Quartet some 8 or 9 years ago. he quartet didn't get recorded as I had then planned but was played and choreographed. Your site is wonderful and your tone GREAT. I don't know that it's your influence but my younger son is quite the young cellist at 13 studying with Efe Balatcigial (Philly Orch) and sounding wonderful.
Best,
Ira

Wonderful tone! The cello is one of the most wonderful musical instruments invented. It is so expressive and anyone can learn to play it. Some of my youngest students are on 1/10 sized celli.

Robert, I finally am back "on line" and just listened to your interview on the Detroit PBS station.
Unable to be with you and your performance of the Don Quixote today, but this was a super second!
Happy for your recent journey to the Czech Republic and especially the cemetery visit in Vienna. Keep up all of your excellent musicianship!

BRAVO!!!! I'm so proud of you! Wish I could have gotten something online for you sooner - but your designers did a fantastic job. Either way, it's just the cover of the book - your music and profound talent speaks for itself - and shines no matter what.
I love you,
Donna
p.s. I especially like the drawings ;)

Your Aunt Rita and my brother Ron Ferguson, S. J. played music together in a group for many months before his death five years ago, she on the cello and he on the flute. Both loved the joy they brought to others as well as themselves as they played the classics. Your Aunt Rita is very proud of you and all of your accomplishments. My brother, Father Ron, would have loved to hear you play and would have found some way to come to hear you if he was still here. Continue to be blessed.

Robert, I am so very proud of you! Your grandfather, Edward Rzeppa, brought the cello into our family in the 1930's. Little did he realize what he was doing at the time and now you are carrying on the muscial tradition he encouraged in our family. You are a gifted young man and are sharing that gift with not only your children but many others. I urge you to continue the good deed. Your sister Mary has offered to help and your Aunt Rita will do her part as well.
